Jordan Salcito
Jordan Salcito
Jordan Salcito is a sommelier and entrepreneur living in New York City. Professionally, she discovered wine through food, although winemaking has been a family hobby for generations: her Italian grandfather used to grow grapes and make wine in his backyard.
After majoring in English at Haverford College, Jordan traveled through Italy, moved to New York City and began working in restaurants. She decided to attended culinary school at Johnson & Wales University, then moved back to New York to cook at Daniel Boulud's flagship restaurant, Daniel. She cooked with Daniel at the La Paulee de Nieges, a Burgundian wine celebration in Aspen, Colorado, and knew at that moment she wanted to spend her life working with wine.
Jordan has worked in some of New York's most esteemed dining rooms, including at Daniel, Eleven Madison Park, Veritas, Gilt at the New York Palace, Nick & Toni's, and The Lion. She also works the grape harvest in Burgundy, France, and Montalcino, Italy each year. One of her favorite hobbies is playing with her godson, Aubert.
Currently, Jordan builds wine cellars for private clients and is working on a project she plans to launch this spring.
