Natalie Tapken is one of New York City's top young sommeliers. While working toward her PhD in philosophy, Natalie began working in the world of New York City restaurants. This began her immersion in the wine community. While studying philosophy, she quickly found herself drawn into the New York culinary world, helping to shape innovative and successful wine programs at top-rated restaurants and contributing to Wine and Spirits Magazine.

In 2006, Natalie accepted the job as the wine director for Lure Fishbar in SoHo. Natalie is now the corporate wine buyer for the Green Apple Restaurant Group of New York City, whose restaurants include Lure Fishbar, Chinatown Brasserie, Locanda Verde, Merc Bar, Joe's Pub, and its newest venue in SoHo, Burger and Barrel. With this position, she has cultivated strong relationships with wine growers and sellers around the world. She has traveled to many of the world's top vineyards, from Napa Valley to New Zealand. Recently, she was honored with induction into the prestigious Les Piliers Chablisiens of Burgundy. Natalie also manages many personal cellars. She has a down to earth attitude and a real passion for both food and wine.
